Do you offer in-person therapy sessions?
No, all of your sessions are online via a HIPPA compliant (legally compliant to keep your information confidential) video platform on either SimplePractice or Zoom.
How do I get online for my meet up with the therapist?
You will receive an email/text from SimplePractice or an email with your Zoom link about 15 mins before your session. If you do not see an email, it is possible it may be in the promotions or spam section of your email account. Please search for Fully Integrated Psychotherapy in the “All Mail” section. If possible, contact your therapist via email, our messaging system, or call to obtain assistance.
How do I know that my sessions and my therapist records will not link out?
We take special care to keep your information confidential and HIPPA compliant (legally compliant to keeping your information confidential). By using record keeping, email, and video platforms that are HIPPA compliant, we provide end to end protection from information leaking out. Please note that all therapist are legally bound to keep your information confidential, expect for situations in which there is child abuse, self-harming or the client reports homicidal thoughts towards someone. In these cases, the therapist is legally bound to report and seek out help. We also provide training to our therapist to learn best practices to ensure the highest level of confidentiality via Telehealth.
What is the process like from contacting you to seeing my therapist?
Step #1 – Pick a therapist: Read our therapists’ bios and schedule an intake appointment via our client portal OR connect with our intake coordinator for assistance in picking a therapist. The therapist you chose will need to confirm the appointment and you will receive an appointment confirmation email.
Step #2 – Choose a payment option:
- 1) Paying a full fee for a fully licensed therapist OR a reduced fee for one of our supervised interns or pre-licensed therapists.
- 2) Using In-network or out-of-network insurance benefits. We have therapists in-network with UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Oxford, BlueCross/Blue Shield (Empire), and Cigna. (please note that unfortunately, we are not in-network with Medicare or Medicaid that partners with these insurances listed above).
If your insurance is not listed, you may have the option to use your out-of-network benefits depending on your insurance. We can check your insurance for out-of-network benefits and give you an idea of what your cost will be and file your out-of-network insurance claims for you.
Considering how insurance plans can vary in coverage, it will benefit you to wait until your insurance is verified by us for eligibility, co-payment, and deductible (which can take 2-3 business days) before attending your first session. Waiting for verification can help you to make an informed decision about the cost of therapy.
Step #3 – Fill out paperwork: Before you see your therapist, you will need to fill out some paperwork sent out via our client portal. This will consist of consent forms, assessments, contact info, and insurance information, if applicable.
Step #4 – Have your first session: On the day of your first session, you will receive an email with a link to connect with your therapist via our confidential Telehealth client portal about 15 minutes before your session. Do I participate in my child/teen’s therapy session?
Typically, the parent will participate in the intake and treatment planning sessions, but in the following sessions the child will participate in therapy sessions on their own. From time to time, it is beneficial to have joint sessions with your child or even sessions with just the parent. The frequency of joint sessions with your child and/or parent session without the child can be discussed with the child’s therapist. An example might be once a month or once every 3 months. There are some exceptions such as with EMDR sessions where the parent might be asked to participate more often. If you are interested in regularly joining sessions with your child, please make that clear to the therapist so family therapy can be considered.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept UnitedHealthcare, UMR, Oxford, BlueCross/Blue Shield (Empire), and Cigna. If your insurance is not listed, but you have insurance that has out of network benefits, we provide courtesy eligibility checking and billing for out of network benefits. In these situations, your insurance will cover part of the cost after you meet your deductible. Feel free to ask for assistance to check for out of network eligibility and information of what the cost might be for you.
Do you offer a reduced price or sliding scale fee for service?
We do not offer a sliding scale dependent on your income. However, some of your clinicians have availability to take on reduced price clients. Contact us for more out-of-pocket cost information.
What is the difference between an intern, pre-licensed, and fully-licensed therapist?
Interns are master’s level students in either social work, psychology, or counseling graduate programs. A Pre-licensed therapist has graduated with a Master’s level degree in social work, psychology, or counseling and is now working to complete their post-graduate hours of therapy experience before they can be fully licensed. Both interns and pre-licensed therapists can practice therapy under the supervision of a fully licensed therapist. They will meet with a supervisor for individual consultation to view the client’s therapy process and obtain guidance from the supervisor. A fully-licensed therapist has completed a master’s degree, completed at least 3-4 yrs of post-graduate experience providing therapy while under supervision, and has passed their licensing exam.
